Workplace and Campus Investigations, Editor – California
We are seeking a dynamic Editor to join our Editor team. Our Editors are key to the high-quality investigative reports we have been providing to our clients since 2011, including clients in the fields of education, sports and entertainment, healthcare, technology, and public safety. The position requires an organized, detail-oriented person who has strong written and interpersonal communication skills and is eager to learn. To ensure success in this role, you should have past experience in document management, editing detailed and lengthy reports, and working in a small-team, collaborative environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with the ability to work in a remote or hybrid arrangement and can be located in Sacramento, the Bay Area or San Diego, California. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer contribution, and paid Winter Break vacation in addition to the standard vacation bank.
Key Responsibilities include:
Assist multiple attorneys by managing their caseload of investigations from start to finish, including:
Proofreading and formatting investigative reports, with a strong emphasis on clear, precise, consistent writing
Coordinating delivery of reports and supporting documents to clients
Managing documents in a document management system (both hard-copy and electronic)
Scheduling witness interviews
Synthesizing, collating, organizing and reviewing large amounts of information and data (including witness interview notes, emails and other documentary evidence)
Preparing chronologies and charts
Preparing witness summaries
Working with the investigators to improve the quality of written reports
Performing document retention/case-closure-related responsibilities
Other projects, as assigned
Requirements, Skills, and Attributes (in addition to the above-noted):
Strong writing and proofreading skills – required
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Political Science – highly desired
Detailed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom – highly desired
Previous law firm experience, including exposure to different types of legal writing – desired

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $68,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
